The Benefit of Ultrasound and Stretching to Lifting Arm Ability in A Case of Shoulder Stiffness Dextra at Hasan Sadikin Bandung Hospital
Abstract
Shoulder Stiffness (SS) is a condition of limited ROM in glenohumeral joint motion. SS can arise spontaneously (primary or idiopathic SS, also known as "frozen shoulder") or can also arise due to known causes, including surgical procedures on the shoulder (secondary SS and post-operative). Ultrasound is one of the physiotherapy modalities for treating musculoskeletal cases with a combination of ultrasound and stretching exercises that are expected to increase ROM and reduce pain in shoulder so that patients can move optimally. Clinical questions arise, “Are Ultrasound and Stretching increase the ability to Raise a Hands in Shoulder Stiffness Dextra Cases?”. To answer that question, some evidence was traced on 5 databases, Pubmed, Science Direct, ProQuest, Cochrane Library, dan SpingerLink. The keywords used are “Ultrasound Therapy AND Stretching AND Shoulder Stiffness AND Fracture. In the search found 3,898 articles. There are 636 articles that corresponding the inclusion criteria. Then, continue reading the article and get 68 articles that correspond to 25 articles in Pubmed, 16 articles in Science Direct, 20 articles in ProQuest, 0 in the Cochrane Library, and 7 in SpingerLink
